KABETE DECIDES - 2015

 On 7TH Feb,2015, Kabete legislature George Muchai was killed by an unknown assailants in Nairobi's GPO. The death of Muchai, created a vacant in Kabete constituency of Kiambu County.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission the scheduled the Kabete by- elections to be held on Monday 4th May 2015.


The Kabete by- election comes as a litmus test for President Uhuru Kenyatta's new political Vessel Jubliee Alliance Party [JAP] after it lost to ODMs candidate Elija Memuusi Kanchory in the Kajiado central by- election on March 16, 2015.



IEBC has cleared nine candidates for the Kabete by-elections slated for Monday 4Th, May 2015.

The candidates include
  1. Jubilee Alliance Party- Ferdinand Waititu,
  2. ODM- Wilson Kamau,
  3. George Waiguru - Independent Candidate
  4. PDU- Isaiah Gichu Ndirangu.
  5.  John Wamagata-Safina, 
  6. Narc-Kenya-Kavore Kariuki, 
  7. Kiriro wa Ngugi - Democratic Party, 
  8. NVP-Newton Njenga
  9. Paul Kariuki Wandere - PPK. 
Kabete residents will now be once again going to the ballot box to exercise their democratic rights to have their representative in the National assembly at least for the remaining  Two and a half years before the general elections of 2017.

 But even as residents go to the elections, the cry for justice into the murder of their late Member of Parliament George Muchai continues..
Kabete constituency has a total of 62,470 registered voters in 92 polling stations  across the five County Assembly Wards.

Security has been tightened a day before the elections, with IEBC confirming that it is prepared to conduct the By-election with over 460 poll officials to conduct the exercise on 4th May, 2015.
